After all the recent leftist
scare tactics in the light of the plan to privatize Social Security, I am led to
wonder if liberals are against workers having a 401K plan. That money is put
into the market. Aren't we gambling away our retirement by putting a portion of
our paychecks in a 401K plan? If that's the case, and given the current Democrat
mantra, wouldn't it be hypocritical for liberals to invest in their employer's
401K program...because you never know, the market could take a turn for the
worse, you'll be poor, and George W Bush will make you eat low quality dog food
because he hates senior citizens.
Gimme a fucking break!! For one, the amount suggested that go into private
accounts is piddly anyway, but at least it would be a start. But other than
that, what is wrong with the younger workers of today opting out??? Sure, if
you're 25 years old and want to collect Social Security at an average 1.5%
interest rate of return when you're older, then fine, stay in your government
plan. Me, I want my $$$ to work for me. Over a 30 year period, the market will
have its ups and downs, but in the long run the market only goes up. Do
Democrats not trust us with us having control of our money? Do Democrats not
trust themselves to invest it wisely? I guess not. At least if the $$$ is in MY
name, and I own it, I can pass it on when I die, instead of it going back in the
big pool. But then again, it's not like there's any $$$ in there to begin with.
Of course, there are still people think there's an account somewhere with their
name on it and it contains all the money that's been confiscated for Social
Security. If they've put $100,000 in over the years, they think they have
$100,000 in their own little account. WRONG!!!
Another wrong line of thinking is that Social Security IS your retirement.
GAH! Liberals...can't we just put them in a lockbox? Perhaps a Constitutional
Amendment or something banning them?
