Music Podcasts

Here is a list of podcasts that I listen to. Most are on iTunes but there are other ways to get them such as Spotify, Stitcher, or an RSS feed. You're smart, you figure it out.

The Eddie Trunk PodcastHost of VH1 Classic's That Metal Show, Eddie Trunk interviews bands and musicians who triumphed in the 70's and 80's in the world of hard rock and heavy metal. Everyone from Poison to Judas Priest, and Stryper to King Diamond. Even if you are not into the music, the interviews are great and you always learn something new about your favorite performers, and may even get into a new band that you never got into back in "the day".

Jim Florentine - Everybody is Awful PodcastStandup comedian and former host of That Metal Show, Jim Florentine rips to shreds his most hated topicc like awful Facebook posts, awful license plates, Yelp reviews, inspirational quotes and so forth. He really has an issue with this stuff. If you need a good laugh, listen to this and you will be rolling on the floor laughing...NO YOU WON'T...because nobody has ever rolled on the floor laughing. Your Facebook updates to play games fucking stink. Your dumb name for your new baby is not important. Nobody gives a shit, nobody gives a fuck.

Monty's RockcastPodcast/Rockcast of Monty Colvin, bassist for Galactic Cowboys. Just as grunge killed metal bands in the early 1990's, Galactic Cowboys released their first album. They had a good run on Geffen and Metal Blade Records and they moved on. Monty moved to the Kansas City area, started his own project called Crunchy, and his own Rockcast. It's great fun. Music, sports, politics (a little), Top 10 lists, Scary Halloween stories, and behind the scenes stories from when Galactic Cowboys were touring back in the 90's. Love this one, plus he also does commissioned paintings, so support him and buy a painting.
